MEN’S GIFT IDEAS: WHEN HE ALREADY HAS IT ALL

Men's gift box

What do you do when you're out of ideas?

How does one think of new men’s gifts every year? If you don’t know someone very well, there are options (read: festive socks), but then those options start running out!
That’s where I found myself this Christmas. I especially struggle to pick presents for guys whom I know well and who already have pretty much everything they need.

Here are some ideas that have worked very well in the past. Being well and truly stuck for gifts this year, I consulted my trusty local Facebook mums’ group on what to buy or make and am including some of their amazing suggestions also. Thank you, ladies at Birth and Baby Cyprus, Mum 2 Mum Support!

My list:

- Scrapbook. Last year I made a scrapbook for my husband starting from our first date until now. I included all sorts of bits and pieces I’d collected over the years: photos, train tickets, dried flowers he’d given me, our favourite takeaway menus! He really enjoyed looking through it and found it very special.

- Collectible vintage items they have an interest in, e.g. cameras, radios, maps, old classic books.

- Family photo calendar. Great for grandparents.Make sure to include pictures of them also! You can usually personalise the calendar to include family birthdays.

- Tie or belt hangers

- Favourite chocolates. If you’re feeling crafty, small chocolates can also be used to decorate other gifts. One mum suggested this choc and drink combination. I’m going to try something similar this year!

- A quality box to store bits and pieces in.

- A coin bowl for a bedside table.

- T-shirt with a funny quote.

DVD. As long as your tastes aren’t too similar and the other person doesn’t have the same idea. My husband and I gave each other the same DVD last Christmas!

- A kitchen apron or a waterproof bbq apron. If you can order them personalised and they like the personal touch, even better!

Fellow mums’ recommendations:

- Bluetooth speakers

- Personalised mugs and glasses

- Portable games for fun

- Music book for the musical man

- Beard balm or shaving foam

- Clothing accessories that can always be used: thermal socks, scarves, pyjamas

- Gift basket put together by creative people. I didn’t realise this was a service until now! It sounds like a great idea, especially if you don’t have the time to pick everything you need and present it festively.
