A creative card which will survive the post
You want to treat your friend to a homemade cake for her birthday. Unfortunately, she lives abroad.Option 1: Find a student friend traveling to the same city, ask them to add the treat to their cool box along with grandma’s frozen homemade meals. Cake may or may not survive the trip in one piece, subject to grandma’s cooking portions.
Option 2: Relinquish the idea of giving her something to savour and instead make her a creative gift to remember: a slice of cake made from a bath sponge which doubles as a card. It's artisan baking at its finest.
Here’s how.
You will need:
- Bath sponge, preferably in the colour of your cake
- Regular scissors
- Zigzag scissors (optional)
- Paint, for icing
- Acrylic modeling paste, to mix with paint for added thickness
- Card
Optional: use zig zag scissors to cut the opening in the zip log bag for a fancier icing shape.
