Love is patient, love is kind
A fun kids' Valentine's craft to engage with the attributes of love from 1 Corinthians 13. It can be used in Sunday school, at home or given as a DIY gift. The paper jar craft is an activity designed for older kids. It can also be used with younger children, but will require some grownup prep with fine cutting and taping.
Supplies needed:
- Kraft card
- OHP/transparent sheets
- White paper
- Coloured paper (I used red)
- Twine
- Felt tip
- Pencil
- Double-sided tape (flat)
- Double-sided tape (puffy)
- Scissors
- Puncher
- Ruler
How to make the transparent paper jar:
Draw and cut your jar outline and lid out of kraft card.
Trace outer jar outline onto two transparent sheets with a permanent pen or pencil. Then, cut the transparent shapes a little smaller than the outline.
Tip: To only cut once, trace only onto one transparent sheet and stack the two sheets together to cut.
Stick one transparent sheet behind kraft paper using flat double-sided tape.
Next, stick the puffy double-sided tape on the perimeter of the transparent sheet, leaving no gaps. This will ensure the little paper words don’t fall out. Now stick the second piece of transparency on the back, creating a pocket for your paper words.
Write your words and pop them in. Add any decorative lines you'd like to the kraft jar. I simply outlined the shape in black.
